Super fine steel wool is used in lots of tasks in metal working. You can blacken in the letters from stamping with a Sharpie pen. Clean away any excess black with a slight alcohol dampened paper towel or fine steel wool. The black will remain in the recess of the stampings.

After you blacken with liver of sulfur you clean the black of off your item with fine steel wool and the dark will remain in the recesses.
